Ok, stang runs strong. Check Engine light came on so I checked the code and p0340 came up. Anyone have an idea where to start this repair?

Could be the sensor itself, the wiring or connector or the pcm.Try checking the connector and wires to make sure there are no breaks in the wire.If possible try ohming the wires to make sure they have continuity. If your capable you can test the sensor by finding the signal wire and using an analog multimeter, see if the signal is ocsillating between 0 and 5v while cranked.

Check the alternator output. Have the Alt tested. Its common for people to replace the sensor and still have the code come back. Culprit is usually a bad diode or something throwing off RF signals from the voltage reg.

I second the Alternator RF signal causing the code.
