ok so my a/c stopped working and ive checked the freon level and pressure and its all good. so does this mean that my compressor might be shot? Cause my compressor is not even kicking on.

i just replaced the cycle switch and still no go. so i dunno. i have freon and everything. so what could be my problem?

IS there power going to the clutch on the compressor?

how did you check the pressures if the compressor isn't cycling?

I thought you were supposed to have the compressor going too, but 40psi should be on the low side whether the compressor is cycling or not am I wrong?

well i had one of those refill charge kits that come with the gauge and it said the the pressure was good. so im not sure to what this could be. it just stopped working on its own. and the compressor didnt make any noise or anything so im not sure if thats bad.

I don't have a wiring diagram with me but find the fuse for the ac and see if its still good. You can also turn it on get two wires and disconnect the hi and lo cutoff switches and jump the connector. If the clutch kicks on you know theres no electrical problem

as far as the hi and low pressure switches? cause i replaced the a/c cycle switch and even tried jumping its connector. and the high pressure switch, the one near the radiator, i even tried jumping its connectors and still no go. or are you talking about jumping something else? thanks

oh and almost forgot, i checked all fuses and all are ok

if your a/c is blowing hot air, it's the air compressor that is most likely bad. since your clutch isn't engaging, that is another pretty good sign that the compressor is done. i think if the fuse was bad, it wouldnt come on at all. think autozone sells them for under 200 with a core exchange.
