Well, it all depends. First, how much are we looking to spend? What are you looking to do? etc.

CIA: If you want to go cheap, you can buy a no-name brand CAI on ebay. However, Frank at Steeda warns that fender well systems tend to cause too much turbulance in the MAF housing. Both Steeda and C&L make kits that are straight, so consider them. Personally, I like Steeda - $260 on Internet/ebay. BTW, don't replace your MAF unless you're upping your injectors and using forced air.

Plenums/TB: Several companies to go with here, and all are pretty good. C&L, Trick Flow, AccuFab, etc. Personally, I like the AccuFab. The most expensive of the group and has better flow than the others, but is hands down the best looking. You can buy these on ebay for about $410.00.

Now, if you buy the TB/P, then be carefull. With the stock intake pipe, 70mm is all you can really use. 75mm would hurt your performance. It can only use the air it can get. I'd go with the Steeda CAI first, then later get the TB/P set up. That way, you can go with a 75mm TB from the start.
Hope this helps you decide.

I would say get the CAI first. If you got the TB and plenum, it wouldnt be as effective with the stock air tubing, and silencer, and blah blah. I got the densecharger CAI from demolet.com, and I love it. I didnt get the MAF yet, cuz like Blue said, NA, its almost pointless. Good luck in deciding, happy b-day.

CAI first. I have a K&N and it's fine. (laugh all you want) But if you want a throttle body and plenum. Go to mustangtuning.com and get the accufab 70mm one. Its about $400 and adds about 10 hp. Thats probally my next mod.

How about neither and go for some longtubes where you'll see some really nice gains.

In reality TB/Plenum/Intake should all be done together. The CAI on our cars is actually pretty good stock and you won't see much gain. TB/plenum you won't see much gain. Together you will notice the car will pull hard over 3k but peak numbers won't really change. You will not see 10hp from a TB in a NA, period. The whole intake/TB/plenum should net you about 15hp.

As far as the 70mm vs 75mm debate. 70mm is recommend NA and if you are using the Accufab plenum. 75mm is recommend when using the C&L. I run the 75mm and C&L. The Accufab produced a similar curve but with 1hp higher at peak. THe exta 100 isn't worth the 1hp. Plus the C&L has a lot of casting slag that can be cleaned out and smoothed to pick up the 1hp.

CAI.... It is always a debate. Fender or non? Fender can mess with the MAF. A tune is usually need to adjust for the screwy air flow through the MAF caused by the fenderwell. They have been know to make a car lean. Non fenders take in quite a bit of heat from the engine compartment even with the shield.

People have their prefrences. For a fender well I would recommend the Tunable Induction shor ttube the K-N FIPK.

Do it like this : cheapest and best way:

Get a Summit and order Trickflow plenum for $139, and a 70mm TB off of Ebay for an avg. price of around $175. Then order the demolet.com maf to tb tubing, then take off your air silencer. Then buy a K&N air filter and take a saw of some type and cut off the plastic keeping the filter from being exposed. You can do all for about $375 or so, versus buying a whole intake about $175, plenum $140 and TB new about $200 and spending over $500, the #'s will be right about the same either way.
