Next mods... need advice.
Thanks to all those who helped me out a few weeks ago, my car is really kicking some serious *** now compared to what it was doing before. My offroad x-pipe seems to have worn itself in and is no longer rattling. I have a few questions now though.
1) What is the best rpm to take off at.. I usually rev it up a bit and peel out. I haven't had the car very long so I'm curious to see what you other people take off at (what rpm). If I really want to I can peel all the way out through 3rd gear, shifting at the redline on the end of 1st, and 2nd, and getting up to about 4500 still peeling out in 3rd. Thank god I don't have tire inspections.
2) What mods should I do next (looking at what I have in the sig). I've decided that I'm definately putting a blower on this and forging the internals. However, I'm probably going to get an intercooled Vortech and run as much boost as I can. The kenne bell blowzilla is ~$5,200 for the kit and the vortech is $2k cheaper. Although, I'm not sure how much boost I can run on the Vortech.. hopefully close to the blowzilla.
3) Are the Pro 5 shifter's good?
I've been doing a lot of highway driving lately with my 4.10's. I got 265 miles on a 11.9 gallons. Aka, ~22mpg. That includes racing a bunch over a 4 hour stretch, and a few times in the 145 MPH ranges through the rural areas on I-76 West. Not too shabby.
Oh yeah, I redline @ ~110mph on my 4.10 gears in 4th... I'm guessing I need to shift immedietely, right?
Damnit, having 6 gears would be so helpful in this situation.

get some LT headers or a nice gain of HP. other than that you are close to looking at a bit of the more expensive mods. that either being head and cams or nitrous or a supercharger.
i see you have 4.10 gears. i know my car would break loose with those when changing gears, how about some sticky tires? or along that route maybe some nice suspension mods and get that power to the ground even better. so thats my answer to question #1.
i have heard good things about the pro 5.0. a short shifter will give you alot better shifting ability and help you to bang gears alot quicker.

How much would sticky tires improve performance for you? My car hooks up pretty well right now, although I'm guessing I would see a world of difference with those stickies right? Also, what exactly do the suspension mods do... maybe someone could give me some more information.
As for the longtubes, not planning on doing the blower until spring, so maybe I'll do that then as well. I won't be doing nitrous until I forge my internals.

Also -- no one answered my question -- what RPM do you usually launch at? Is it best to launch mid range ~3,000 rpm's.. this has always confused me and I'm curious as to what's best -- I have stock tires.
i launch around 3300 but my car runs like complete **** right now. its missfiring and the clutch is going and one of the exhaust brackets rattles like all hell. but at about 3300 i get a decent launch, i hardly ever squeel my tires.
