Ummm, maybe turn your overdrive off? You can do that by pressing a tiny button at the bottom of the shifter head. You can tell it's off, because there will be a green light that comes up on your panel that glows green and says "OD off".

The Predator tuner allows for adjustments to shift setpoints such as rpms and shift firmness. Maybe someone with an auto and predator can confirm this.

The reason that it does not kick down to 2ND gear is because the computer is set up for gas milage and not performance. Look at my mod list, if you want it to kick down to 2nd gear at that speed you have to do it manually!! I have used the predator to adjust my shift pressure and shift points, I suppose that if you want to you can adjust it so that it will shift to 2nd at thoes speeds, but I am not sure. I rarely need it to drop into 2nd at thoes speeds on the highway, and when I want it to I just move it there myself!!

There is no way around it except doing it manually. It shifts out of 2nd at 85 mph and 5500 RPM, so at 70-80 it would only be there for a split second with stock shift points. Just adjust your shift points/pressure/firmness with a handheld or shift it manually.

Shift it manually downshifting, and say bye-bye tranny. If it's a 99-04 GT auto w/stock gears it will not go down that low at 70-80, you don't need it, you have more power at the rpms in 3 at that speed anyways.

Quit driving it like a ricer don't manually shift it ever. That is why it's automatic.
