Default RE: speaker replacement

You have to take out the back seat and then the side panels in the back seat because the speaker grilles are permanently attached to the side panel.
To take out the back seat you must lift up the seat from the bottom to find a spring loaded "button". Press the button in using something other than your fingers (its a little tight and you may need to force it. Once you do this to both sides of the bottom of the seat, it should lift right up. To remove the seat back, there are two 10 mm bolts that secure the seat at the bottom. The seat back should then lift right up. From there you need to remove the door sills and the plastic retainer clips from the side panels.
If you have the light bar like I do, you'll need to remove that too. Of course you may have to cut the brake light wire and then resplice it when you go to reinstall.
Beneath the side panels, the speakers sit in an enclosure that requires a T-40 torx bit to remove - there are three of these if you want to remove this enclosure (it sure makes it easier to install the speakers this way.) Of course if you want to run new speaker wire you will definitely need to remove these enclosures. Install is reverse of the removal.
