I have a 96 GT, it has about 85k miles on it. I Don't have the money for a supercharger, or a new engine for that matter, so I was thinking about juicing it this winter. I was thinking that if I went with a 75 shot my engine would be able to run it without out having to get the 4.6 pumped for it. Any suggestions or comments?

From what I've heard, a 75-shot is safe on a stock 4.6 engine. Some say you can go to 100, but I personally wouldn't go past 75 on a stock engine.

Agreed. 75 shot is your best bet. I have seen a guy run a 150 shot on his stock motor at the track. he lost his purge solniod in the stagging lane. He still sprayed and the motor went boom. Leaned out for a split second. Just a downside of nitrous.

Anyone who says that you can't spray a 125 shot to your car has no clue. Right now I am jetted for a 125 with an NOS NOSzle kit. You do want to upgrade the fuel pump though

If you run slicks on your car, with a 75 shot or more you will need to get new axles

That's not true either. I know some people's break and some don't. I have run on a 10" slick and had no issues as of yet with stock axles. That doesn't mean that I suggest it. You can run a 125 shot with stock axles. Just don't think they will hold up forever.

I've always heard that if you use nitrous, it's just a matter of time before you "hand grenade" your engine. Is this true? Does prolonged use of nitrous shorten the life of your engine by a lot? Maybe I'm just misinformed.

As with any power adder you are going to have the chance to blow something up. As long as you tune the car right N2O can be your friend for a very long time.

Yeah just check on the condition of them, you wouldn't wanna try it if there in really rusted bad condition.
