Default Engine Noise, Need Advice!

I'm new to the forums and bought an 04' Mustang GT, It has 39k on it and is making a strange noise.

From a cold start, I can rev the engine without the sound being present, however when I start to drive, there is a "put put put" noise that comes from the drivers side, almost seeming to come from behind the firewall. It is present in all gears and is more pronounced with increased depression of the gas pedal. The noise seems to be louder at lower RPM's (Around 1.5k). At higher RPM's the noise is present, however is faster and less apparent. I have spoken to a friend and he seems to believe that it is not an exhaust leak or more problematic noise like a thump, or tap. Lastly the noise isn't audible listening to the engine with the hood popped and only seems to be heard while inside the car.

Any thoughts? Any help is appreciated. I will try to upload audio asap.

I say this every time, but it sounds like a sparkplug is about to backout i.e it is rattling around loose. Would be weird i think you have the improvised head with 8 threads. If its not that it is most likely valvetrain. A lash adjuster or cam follower, you'll probably have to pull the head, i'd check plugs first. Once the video is up we'll probably be able to tell you better. Where at in Maryland?

Frederick Maryland, As soon as the wife gets home, i'll get on the video. Thanks for the fast reply!

I looked up Valvetrain noises on youtube and returned this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u27PRM2DFu4

This came up for lash adjuster tick http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPJGhnTK4MI

That is definately NOT what my noise sounds like

I found this for loose spark plugs

YES this sounds alot like what i'm hearing when I accelerate. My question is how hard of a fix is this, and do you think there is any engine damage?

The first one is a 5.0 which is a pushrod, no cam in head like your car.

hmm could be the plug but thats not too common on the 04s, i hope its not a rod knock or a bearing.

I'm not too far, right near hagerstown.

My car actually blew out a plug, it cost me $30 to fix but about 8 hrs of labor,(maybe more) i think shops on average charge a few hundred (no more than $400 i believe) 2-300 i think?

For some reason when i clicked the 2nd video my sound cutoff so i couldn't hear the third, i'll try to re-start and come back.

As far as engine damage the head may be damage but it may be repairable. Thats if it is the plug.

Could be, not sure... What makes you think it's a leak?

Sounds like an exhaust leak and your car is missing BAD or ... a spun bearing :\. Anyone else have input?
