The steed tri-ax shifter seems to be very popular with 5 speeds.

Can't be any harder than the Steeda. I did mine in the parking lot at work over lunch. The damned bolts took forever (b/c of length) to get out, but it was a breeze. A lot of folks complained about cabin noise from the Steeda, but I can't tell a difference. Anyway, give yourself time, go slow and enjoy the experience. The only thing you need to be careful of is adjusting the stops. Leave a 1/16 gap WHILE pushing the shifter toward the stop. That will give you room to slam it around and keep the tranny safe.

Good luck

Love it! [sm=gears.gif]
Shifters are a very easy install, and while you are right there and have everything open, you should just go ahead and change your fluid.

I have the UPR...I have not complaints other than the crappy adjustable shift stick that they sent me. It is the one they offer as a free "upgrade" but it sucks. No matter how much lock-tight I used or how hard I tightened the two nuts it would always come loose. Now that sucks when you're going down the road. I called them and they sent me free of charge a new shift handle. Just get it with the normal shift handle and you'll love it.

Cool I'm going up to upr on monday. Thanxs for the input. Now what's that blue70 said about changing the fluid while i'm @ it? The trans fluid? My car has 16000 miles. Is it time yet? How many quarters does our tranny takes?
