Cam degree article
Cam degree article, please critique. I wrote this as after 10 years of modulars I have never seen it written down to where anybody could understand how and what is needed to do it.

That is a great article! I have always been wondering how to do a cam install and this really gave me a good idea of what is involved.
I will have to read this again when I'm not half asleep so I can understand it better as the degreeing part was a little confusing the first time. One question is what does TDC stand for?

Yeah its quite a bit to comprehend for the first time.
Good question on TDC, I just did a fix for that.
I will also show how to check for PTV clearance as well and add a picture of the entire setup.

It may have been mentioned, and maybe I missed it, but I think it may be important to mention which cylinder to check TDC (#1). And also point to which is the number 1 cylinder. This will keep someone from having to check another source.
Also, when degreeing, I used the intake valves on the #1 and #6 cylinder. Noting that and/or showing a picture of which valves those are would have helped me the first time I did it!
I did mine with the motor in the car, so there were some other differences with mine......like I had to disconnect the brake booster. And checking TDC with the head still on.
Great writeup!
Thanks,
Derrick
