Default shift kit

in my quest for infinate knowlege, i pose thee question......

what exactly is a shift kit? I could never understand that if an automatic tranny's job is to shift the gears,

then why would it "need" a shift kit?

how much do they cost and where can they be found?

thanx!

What a "shift-kit" does is make the shifts firmer and faster by increaseing the line pressure and modify the way the stock one shifts. A shift kit will actually increase the life of your trans because the faster/firmer the car shifts the les slippage and therfore the less wear and tear on your trans. If you have a auto I highly suggest that you get one, along with a trans cooler!!! You will really love the way your car shifts with a shift kit in it!!!

Trans-go ( transgo.com ) makes them (the same one that I have) and the shift kit was $135 shipped to my door. I had mine installed by a transmission shop because 1) I did not want to mess it up 2) I do not have a place to do the work myself.

This will work to help out your shifts, BUT it is nothing compared to the shift kit. After a week or two of haveing the shif kit in my car I went in and increased the line pressure a little bit more and now the car kicks really good going into gears!!!!

I got a question! Can you use the Shift Kit and the Predator to bump up line pressure together, or should I reset the line pressure to stock with my predator and then install the shift kit?
