I have a chance to purchase a 1999 6 cylinder mustang with an automatic trans.</P>


Whatwould you need to doto swap a 4.6 li. V-8 and a 5-peed manual transmission into that car.</P>

i hope you dont buy it with those hopes, cause it will be cheaper to just buy a gt 5 speed...

$$, and lots of it. more than it would cost to buy a gt of the same year if you factor in the cost of the v-6.

I forgot to mention that the car i am thinking about to purchase has a blown engine and the tranny is slipping. I can purchase this car for around $700</P>

Engine, motor mounts, wiring harness, computer. This is just off the top of my head. I'm sure there's more.

Default v-8 conversion

How about cooling system, brakes, suspension, etc. There's a whole lot more to it than just an engine. Follow the wisdom of the preceding posters - if you want a V-8, sell the V-6 and buy a GT.
