HELP PLEASE !!!
i have a 2001 gt stick and i installed a paxton novi 1000 blower with intercooler , 39 pound injectors, 75 throtle body lightning mass air and fuil pump , and a upper intake , i just got it tuned and every time i step on it it destroys one or two spark plugs , when i take them out there either bent shut or the porslin is broke off and when it happins it makes a funny noise like the piece is bouncing around in the motor. i have noticed that every time it happins its a differt piston that dies .... what does that mean im so lost ..
It means the tune sucks... The timing is too aggressive and you are experiencing destructive detonation, a very bad thing--stop doing what you are doing NOW or you will destroy the engine.
The pistons in these engines are made of a hyper eutectic alloy that is very wear resistant, but also quite brittle.
What octane fuel are you running, do you know anything about the tune--changes from the stock tune, etc.?

Umm, I'm not familiar with what is all involved and included with the Paxton kits, but did you recieve a chip to install a new tune with it? I'd put that back on ASAP! I hate to believe there's a tuner out there who would leave a car in this condition, I mean, when it's on the dyno there running all the way through the RPM band eventually, so at some point this had to have happened to him. That said, he probably did just as much, if not more damage than you did. You're tuner sucks!!! (I'm sorry if this offends you if you did the tuning haha...but seriously if you have to ask what this is, you're not ready to tune your own car if you are doing it).
I really hope you haven't already done too much damage to the internals already, but if you hear funny noises when you've supercharged your car, get OFF the accelerator because it's just that much more important to get it checked out if you aren't sure what it is. Detonation in even the quietest of forms can cause terrible problems and damage, when it's this loud, it's got to be really bad. Get it on a dyno with someone who knows tuning...I suggest towing it there! Make sure the internals are ready for everything to. And, if you experience these types of problems again, don't try to do the hit and miss form of testing and solution!!!

Yeah, I bet he has a nice pile of metal shavings sitting in his oil pan. I wish it wasn't true, but I'm thinking a rebuild is going to be necessary. I mean, if chunks were falling into the engine and causing that much damage, I don't see how everything could be unscathed and actually hold up to more boost, if anything.
These engines are actually somewhat resistant to the rare detonation event. Even with blowing the plug apart, more often then you'd think the pieces find their way out the exhaust port--how that's possible I don't know, but it happens...
That said however, continuing to push things is a grenade with the pin pulled...

Oddly enough I have seen bits of plugs come flying out the exhaust port far more often that can be explained--nonetheless I do NOT recommend betting on that as opposed to having a proper tune...
