so as far as timing the heads... since i marked TDC on them, can i line them up, put the chain on, then tighten the caps down?? cause with the caps already tightened, it makes it hard to line up the TDC marks due to valve spring compression.

(I'm beyond drunk so please excuse me if I am wrong)

I believe when you set timing on these motors you remove the followers with a special tool. You set the timing where it needs to be then insert the followers back.

If you are using the caps to pull down the cam on the rockers is bad. If you break one of those guys the head is junk.

Yea, the windsor heads have individual cam caps and romeos have the "all in one" setup. just pop the followers out, time the cams and reinstall the followers.

you have to remove these

THEN set the timing, and (using a special tool you can purchase that looks like THIS)

depress the valve springs and valves and re-install the followers. You should only have to remove the ones that are actually making contact with the lobes. Not all of them on each side will have to come out
