Default leaking diff. fluid

Today I noticed I was leaking diff. fluid. Not a whole lot, but the cover was noticeably wet and there was a small puddle on the ground. I just had my whole rear end redone so I'm going to take it to the same shop and have them check it out. Could it just be something simple like a seal or do you think something actually broke?

Probably a bad pinion seal

They could have overfilled the diiff as well and it is coming out the overflow.

I had it done about 1000 miles ago so if they overfilled it I think it would have happened sooner. The shop should be willing to work with me on this for free right? It shouldn't have any problems this soon. I have yet to even launch the car once.

I'd recommend checking the differential gear lube level before driving the vehicle. If the gear lube is low and the car is driven, the repair bill could be costly.

I had a can under it overnight and after 24 hours hardly anything dripped out. But it is still leaking.

Is it running down the front of the pinion and towards the rear cover?

It shouldn't be leaking as the vehicle is parked, but only when it's being driven/under pressure. Check the gear lube level before driving it again, unless of course you can afford a new rear axle.
