Hopefully you guys can help me out. I just bought a 2001 gt convertible auto with 26,000 miles at 30 and again at 45-50 the car sputters around like an engine miss I took the car to ford charged $100. diagnostic fee and said it was the mass air flow sensor I replaced it with one from autozone and still have the same problem any ideas would be appreciated.

Why did Ford charge you $100 and why did you buy the part yourself? You have 26000 miles on the car which means you are still under warranty! They should fix it charge free! I would take it back... get your money and tell that dealership to go to hell and find a different one to take your ride to.

Amen to that... Hopefully it's not the 4yr warranty, w/ an early production 01, that puts it past it's warranty time period..

But give 'em hell.. If not, check your spark plugs... If not that, I'm not sure, what else does it do??

Yes the factory warranty is 3/36, I have to go back to the dealer it was purchased from to get the extended warranty problem fixed the local dealer said I had only a powertrain extended and i know I have a 5/60 bumper to bumper. Thanks I will check the plugs today, there are no other problems that i can find. I know the history on the car my mother bought it brand new in 01 and didn't want it any more so I bought it from her for $15k I thought it was a good deal now I just have to figure out whats wrong.
