Default ah crap

so i randomly will play with the diagnostic system built into the computer to see if i had any trouble codes. up untill tonight i had NONE and now its reading a 5284. i checked to see what that means and it is a Oil Pressure Switch Failure whatever that means. has anyone else thrown this code? should i go to the dealership? i checked the diagnostics bc when i started my car after being at my friends house tonight the gas gauge read F when i knew i had 3/4 tank. i guess the sender is on that side of the tank ( i was parked on the side of the road so my car was at an angle) bc the gauge slowly returned to 3/4 tank. im kinda scared that my stang is broken so any help is appreciated

Im not to sure what that means, but not having enough oil pressure is bad, very bad. I would get that fixed and if you have another car to drive, drive it. Oil pumps are easy to get to. You could prolly do it yourself if you had to replace your oil pump. But for sure get it checked out.

So I am guessing they couldn't tell you what the problem was seeing as how they had no clue bout the DTC reader.

if your asking about the diagnostic system, all you have to do is hold down your odometer button while you are starting the car untill it says gauge and then you can go from there, mustang world.com has a how to article on it
