Help...
Ok....just joined yesterday and caught the bug.
What I want to do to my '03 Prem GT Conv. which already has BBK CAI and Flowmasters is:
BBK Underdrive pulley kit
BBK Throttle body
Trick Flow High Flow Upper Intake Plenums
(have all #'s and ready to order through Summit)
The reason why:
I still lack low end
My friend tells me to change the rear gearing first because that will be the most noticible difference even BEFORE I get the above referenced list.
Now....the questions are:
1) I don't know what ratio comes in the stock rear
2) I don't know what ratio will work best for me...I tend to drive long distances now and again so I don't want the gearing to be too much as to lose a lot of top end...I need a happy medium.
3)Not sure of the stock throttle body and it's dimentions.
4)Not sure of what will work best for aftermarket throttle body (65/70/75????) I hear too big isn't good either.
5)ANY OTHER BRANDS OR MODS U GUYS/GIRLS HAVE BEEN HAPPY WITH LET ME KNOW.
I don't race my car but if I want to get on it I want to know I can.
Well...that's my story and I'm sticking to it...
Anyone have any advice or experience investigating the same mods?
Thanks in advance.
Mark

Here check out this web site for some good deals on TB and plenums you can get a good combo for a great price. They also have other deals on there. http://rpmoutlet.com/newv8m.htm
If I were you I would defently go with 4.10's gears. Also get the gears before you get the rest if you are on a budget, it is where you will feeel the most difference. And before you buy a TB and plenumn check out C&L's web site for specs on the 70mm vs. the 75mm on a N/A application. As far as under drive pully's go get the Steeda ones, or just make sure that the one's that you order are not piggy back ones

I agree...
I have been looking at my options and I think 4.10 is a bit too much.
BUT ALL OF YOUR ADVICE IS APRRECIATED!!!
I just got done ordering my BBK TB and Plenum combo from rpmoutlet. Should get sometime late next week.
I will take some more time researching the rear and order tonight or tomorrow.
Next I will look into the underdrive pullies...I'm just concerned I will have issues with not getting enough pull to other neccesary accessories...but time will tell.
Until next next post!

The difference between the 3.73's and the 4.10's is about 200-300 RPM's. That is not that big of a difference to make you get the 3.73's. Get the 4.10's I have read many threads on here where other have got the 3.73's because of the same thinking that you have and end of dissappionted with them and wishing that they had gotten the 4.10's. Do a search on here there are about a 3-4 threads that deal with 4.10's and gas milage on the highway, check them out and I am sure that you will end up going with the 4.10's. All in all it is your choice, I am just trying to make sure that you have all the info that you need to make a good decision. I have yet to get gears, have been asking a lot of question/ doing a lot of reserch on them and am going to go with the 4.10's in my auto because it is such a little difference in rpm's at 70-80 mph.
For your UD pulleys, March and Steeda have non-piggyback pulleys. I had piggys and the change in balance on the crank threw off the crank position sensor. I just installed Steedas and the problem is gone.
The difference from 3.73 to 4.10 is 200-300 rpm. True. But when starting from 3.27, 3.73 is two steps up. Unless you plan on loads of stoplight, or track racing, I'd go with 3.73 gears.
But that's just me.
BTW, rpmoutlet now offers Motoblue pulleys.
