Do long tubes net hp when supercharged?
Shorties are the headers that aren't worth it. LT's or stay with stock manifolds. Of course they net you more Hp but they also move your power band which I think is the greater gain. Guessing a Hp is impossible because of so many variables. Based on someones setup it could be 15-40rwhp depending on boost, blower & engine.
The reason i ask is because I've read on the Kenne Bell website and their they don't recommend long tubes for cars making anywhere from 400-600rwhp. They have dyno graphs and show that LTs only netted 4rwhp more. But would that only be for twinscrew superchargers? would it be different for a centrifugal?
With the ProCharger installed, my car was dynoed at 385/370 with the stock exhaust. I needed a better tune so I had LTs and a catted x-pipe put on first. The first pull before the new tune was 385/367. My opinion is that LTs are not worth it and that its the off-road mid-pipe that gives you a few gains.
