Default 2002 GT

After reading some threads I got to thinking bout some things. People say to find out whether you have a Romeo or Windsor look at your VIN the 8th number. If its an X you have an 8 bolt windsor, well I have an x in the VIN and my car has a six bolt crank. Also, I've heard people say that 02 and up should have 21# injectors (pink), but mine has 19# injectors (yellow). Can someone clue me in why that my be? Thanks

You should have 21 lb injectors. You wont have the Windsor block though. My GT was built in march of '02 and I had the six bolt crank also.

Thanks, for the info. Would me having 19# as opposed to 21# affect my engine?

why does it matter which plant your motor is from? is there an advantage to have one or the other?

It doesn't matter, I was just wondering. Thought it was kind of odd people say the x in the vin means you have an 8 bolt windsor, and when I swapped engines turns out it was a 6 bolt. Kind of like JD's thread that said don't post if you don't know ****.

do you know why there is a difference? and is that the only difference in the internals? also, is the difference from year to year or just from one car to the next?

Yes, you've got a Romeo engine, but no you don't have 21# injectors. I dunno why some people insist they do... I looked it up Bosch does make 21# injectors and their pink... but all GT's came with 19#ers

... and according to SCT:
all GT's have 19's. The pink injectors are 19# injectors. I have no idea where this 21.5# stuff started from but it's WRONG. Now, the 3.8L's do use a 21# injector since 1999 when they introduced the split port motor.
also Ken from MD Motorsports said:
I just checked the EEC calibration for a 00 and an 03 and they both are setup for 19# injectors.
