00 mustang gt vs. 2004 jetta 1.8t
hey i have a 2000 mustang gt 5-spd with a cai, one of my friends brothers is dead set on racing me with his 2004 jetta 1.8t with an intake, exhaust, and a chip that he said gives him 40-50hp. my car is having some ignition and some clutch problems so we're not going to race until i get the problems fixed. does anyone know if it is a even race or if i will get smoked? and if i wont win what bolt on's will i need to take him. im new to the modding so i need help for the best combos. the races are from a dead stop and also from 40 or 50mph any feedback would be helpful thanks.

haha. its my friends brother and he's just one of the really cocky kind of guys. i thought jettas were quick and he's had his around 130 which is what i've gotten mine to but the turbo will help him take me after 100mph on the 40 or 50mph rolling start? i think it was 40or so hp to the engine. i just want to make sure i dont lose cuz i wont hear the end of it. oh he has a b.o.v. for the turbo dont know if that makes a difference

well his car is a 1.8T that is putting out 180 HP stock versus your 260. his car weights 2800+ pounds as for yours it will be 3200 pounds. as far as the extra 40-50 HP that still puts him at 220 which is still 40 HP difference so it would be a close race but i think you will have him all of the way.

Redass. Shut up. Damn. You always have a stupid comment. No one wants to hear it. But back on topic. Another thing you have alot more of is torque. Don't under estimate it. He might get you off the line because FWD does a better job of that (no spinning) but as soon as you get traction hes done. And from a roll hes finished. Good luck!
