Default white smoke?

Hi guys I have a 1996 gt with 96,000 miles. The car runs great but when i stay at idle for a while and then take off a cloud of white smoke comes out the exhuast. It is only when i idle like going through a drive thru. Another problem is my car burns about a quart of oil before every 3000miles. I dont know if this is the same reason why it smokes, i am guessing it is. I would apprecaite if someone could tell me what this could be.Thanks

You sure the smoke doesn't have a slight bluish tint to it? Anyways that's where the oil is going, right out your exhaust.

If its blue that's oil burning. Either some valves are leaking or your rings are crapping out on you.

Thats great yeah right. I am getting ready to change my intake so I guess i will have them look at the valves. I sure hope its the valves instead of the rings. Thanks alot for your help. I will let you know whats the turn out.

My Friends 95 gt had the same problem and it turned out to be his head gasket. There a couple things that could be wrong to make it do that. Most likely its what 02stangt said and probably your valves. Goodluck let us know what ya find.
