Help!!!
I need some MIL eliminators immediatly...My sct chip locked up so now my check engine light is on. My inspection is due in the next week so I need some help asap. I really really dont want to put a chip back on. Its gonna take too much time for sct to send mine back to me. I looked on every website & the MIL eliminators are not available or on back order. Does anyone know where I can get some? Or a really cheap sct just to get it past inspection bc I'll just take it off again lol
Thanks!!!

Unfortunately, it looks like MIL eliminators have been discontinued or backordered because of manufacturing problems. There's a very good chance that nobody will have them in stock for a while. In this case, it looks like you have to go with a chip or a handheld tuner to get the car ready for inspection. A good tuner will be able to write you a custom tune that's inspection-friendly, so you can pass the emissions portion of your inspection.
Regardless, it's a good idea to check your local inspection regulations and see if there's any kind of a grace period where you won't get ticketed if you're driving the car with a failed inspection. I'm only familiar with PA's laws, but up here, you can get a ticket as soon as you're caught driving with a failed or expired inspection (NJ is the same way, now that I think about it). Good luck!
The availability problem comes and goes as the DEP, EPA, and DOT send out nasty-grams to the larger and more visible vendors of MIL Eliminators.
Although always sold with all sorts of caveats and cautions that they are for "off-road use only", there is no real reason for their being sold except to violate Federal emission standards. Some of the handheld tuner manufacturers have discontinued support for turning off the the rear sensors because of the same pressure from the Feds.
The good news is that there's no rocket science involved, so just roll your own...

well one could easily argue that i don't want to see a service engine soon light on my "off road vehicle". i wouldnt want a CEL on a drag car always on so i never knew if it was throwing a legit code or not.
reguardless do what cliffy posted you can make them for stupid cheap with parts from radio shack if you have some very basic soldering skills. or check the forums or ebay for a used set.

One other option is to move to Florida where we don't have to deal with that "inspection/emissions testing" BS--almost 20 years ago now the State in an uncharacteristically sensible move determined that since 98%+ of the cars tested passed, it was costing more to do the silly testing than it could possibly be worth...

I may be confused but, OP wouldn't you still fail even if your CEL isn't on? Don't they see that you don't have any cats or do a sniffer test or whatever?
I just read the other day in a trade journal that a lot of states don't do a visual anymore.
They just hook up the the OBD2 port on the newer CAN bus cars, and do a OBD2 "system ready" and butt-hole sniff on the older ones...
