head swappp

theres no guarantee of the condition of the motor your getting when you buy it. a lot of the mark 8's are higher mileage, when you know the condition of your shortblock, it may be easier to justify just adding the heads than some unknown motors condition.
and it also depends on your overall plans for hte car. it is much easier and cheaper to SC the 2v. i dont even know how you would go about putting a vortech on a markiii, or if they even have brackets and stuff to fit it.
also, i hadn't ever seen anyone actually do the swap before jc316 did it. i remember before he did the swap people were asking all the time how to do it, but no one had ever found a writeup or even knew what was involved.

i realize this, i never said he was the first person to do a 4v swap. he was the first person i had ever seen to do the mark viii swap. before he had done his, i had NEVER seen a mark viii dropped into a mustang. i even asked a few years back because a guy in my shop had a mark viii motor he said i could have, but NO ONE had any specific information on what it would take to drop it in, it was all guesses. and there were threads started on an almost daily basis called "will a mark viii motor fit". and nothing useful ever surfaced.

A cammed 2V will outrun a MarkVIII swap everytime, been there done that.
The 93-95 Mark heads are junk stock, the 96-98 flow better and have a better valvetrain.
Only the 96-98 Mark intake will fit the Mustang, the earlier the TB is in the firewall.
