Default Shocks & Struts for 03 GT

Looking at getting some different shocks and struts. I was wondering what are some good ones for a lowered 03 Gt, and preferrably not break the bank. I have heard of using Fox body ones, are those good to use with a new edge? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I've been looking into this lately. So far from what i've read, Tokico and KYB are okay, and are pretty cheap.

I'm not really a suspension guy though, so maybe some of the others will chime in.

OP... if i've learned anything from the guru JAZZER. Never wanna go cheap in this department lol. But Mrtstang did put up two cheaper choices (see above) that would suit your needs fine esp if it's a DD. I am aware that it can get pretty pricey but i'd look at Jazzer's supsension guide at least once b4 choosing.

Im currently using the Tokico struts & shocks (they didn't break me and they are good imo for DD, and light strip). There a good replacement choice to pick (better than OEM anyways) but there's other brands out there that would be better yet you'd have to pay a bit for.

Ideally you'd want to match the shocks to the spring rate. What springs are you running and how much is your car lowered?

Well I'm not really sure on the springs and the how much it is lowered. I bought it this way, and couldn't locate previous owner. I took the numbers off of the springs and come up with C springs. As far as how much, I don't know. Is there a way to measure to see how much it is lowered? Like what does a non-lowered mustang measure in height. Thanks for all the replys

Just get the Tokico HP's. I got them with me H&R SS springs which lower almost 2 inches and have rather high spring rates and the ride on my car is like heaven lol. Tight, but very forgiving on all but the crappiest country roads. Handles really well too....and comes with a lifetime warranty lol

Can't beat a lifetime warranty! I also have tokicos and have been very happy with them. I have the adjustable d-specs which come in handy when I'm going to do some highway driving and when I plan on having some fun with the car.

I was reading in someone else's post about the KYB G2. Would those be fine for a daily driver? I am right at 27" from ground to fenderwell, and I plan on dropping 1/2 -3/4 more this summer. Not for sure how far that is from stock. But just looking for a little better ride. I believe the ones that are on have been on for the whole 108k miles.

I just measured mine, and i'm at 27" as well with the pro kit. So, obviously you're not that low either. With that said i would think the KYB's would do fine, but i wouldn't buy them if you plan on going lower.
