Default Brake Problem?

Ok so a few weeks ago I noticed a scraping or squeaking noise coming from my passenger side brakes. This noise only happens when I am turning right and braking or taking a sharp right turn. I took my car to a shop and they looked at all the brakes. They said that the right rear brake was frozen and that they " Freed up, lubed, and reinstalled" it. The noise went away for a few days and now its back! I dont know much about brakes but does this mean that it is simply frozen again or is it something else? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Did you just get your brake done recently?

You might want to just check yourself. If the breaks are good. Then it's something else. I had a squeak from my driver side one time and found out it was a bearing or some crap like that. Maybe the person who put your brakes on didn't use that anti squeak brake stuff on the back of the pads?

I just recently did my own brakes for the first time it was very easy to do. So you might just wanna take a look for yourself.

I got my brakes done a few months ago but the noise just started a week or two ago.

I just looked at it myself. I really don't know much about brakes so i didn't attempt to pull anything apart, but nothing seemed out of place or loose.

Still could use some help if anyone has any ideas. Thanks

Thanks. So what exactly does that mean? Can I fix this myself or do I need to take it to a shop?

I just noticed the shop said it was your rear. If this is true then this is not the fix. You should verify where the noise is coming from before changing parts.

If it is the front right. Bellow is your fix.

15 minutes and you're done.

If it is my brake line how do I tell if there is something is wrong with it or not? I dont want to just start throwing parts at it without knowing what the problem is.

Thanks for the help.

I'll hop on my broom and come trouble shoot your car for you. If you don't have basic trouble shooting skills, I think it is going to be very difficult to do.

Being as specific as you can, describe everything you can about your issue. If you can't do that, we wont be able to help you.

A few lead in ?? are...

can you reproduce the problem at will?
High or low speeds?
Any discoloration of your rotors?
Did you pull off the caliber to check it yourself? If not, you need to.

Haha You dont need to take your broom, just take your car.

OK gotcha, Ill try to be as specific as possible from now on.

I can reproduce the problem at will, taking any right turn. This squeaking/scraping noise happens every time Im braking and turning right. The noise also occurs when Im taking sharp right turns and NOT braking.

This problem occurs at any speeds. Of course I have not taken any 65+ mph turns recently.

There is no discoloration in my rear rotors. I have not noticed any on my front rotors but I will look more closely tomorrow.

I have NOT pulled the caliber off. I have never done brakes before so I guess its time to try.

Thanks sxynerd
