Whats up guys,
I've got a 04 gt 4.0, im looking at doing some work under the hood of my pony, but im pretty new at this, I have a friend who re cammed his mustang, and it sounds amazing with his SLP loudmouths.
What i wanna know, is what are some other mods you can do other than Cam's, i thought about buying a built motor from Ford, but decided that i just wanna save some money, and take the pride in doing the work myself, ive got alot of friends who work at a shop who are willing to show me how to do the work, but i dont know what i want done.
If someone could give me some advice it would be awesome.

so ill just assume 4.0 is a typing error but if your looking to do cams you should prolly have someone else do it...if you get it wrong say good bye to your motor

everyone on here is gonna say tune and gears first, which really makes a difference

edit: school boy wrote the same time i did, if youre willing to spend the money on a new engine, then i would just say go supercharger

What kind of budget do you have? How much power do you want?

Im assuming u meant 4.6 liter v8. Is this car a dd, weekend car, track car, ect? Also need to know your budget. 90% percent of people on here are gonna say gears first. Hope this helps.

Budge AND goals for the car? Do you want a 1/4 mile car, a car that handles like it's on rails, a DD that's a little fun, a fun weekend car, show car?

Yup, you have to decide what you want the car to do and what you are willing to give up to get there before you get started with mods.

If a fun DD is the goal, a blower and a few suspension mods would absolutely do the trick. If you want a quick drag car you have to focus on that. If you want a nice road course car, you have to focus on that. You get the point...

I think the overall thing im going for is a fun DD, I've got about a 6.5k budget.
So i guess what im going for is Something that is a little bit quicker, sounds great, and handles good.

Thanks for the input so far guys,

6.5k will get you far! Holy smokes man! Will you be doing the work yourself or will you have someone install for you?

Mods I would do with that kind of money in no order:
-Bigger brakes to help you stop better when you add more power and SS brake lines
-Coil-overs or lowering springs (depending on how much you want to spend) to help you handle the car better when you add more power
-F/I of some sort, a good intercooler, and a good tune "The best bang for the buck"
-Gears. 3.73 gears if you go F/I. 4.10 gears if you stay N/A.
-Short-shifter (highly recommend a MGW)
-Chin spoiler
-New wheels/tires
