Since the '03 GT is getting to be 9 years old, I was thinking of changing the Spark Plugs. It still runs great. I'm getting worried that the plugs might need to be changed being in there since new. I was wondering what the EXACT Motorcraft Part # is. Why go to something different when the original part has been so faithful. I'm not sure if the # is SP 413 or SP 493 or another part #? I don't want to pull a plug to check. I figure it might be easier this way. Thank You.

AWSF-32 is what the manual for the 2001 4.6 shows for me. I pulled those today and according to Advance Auto Parts those are discontinued. I replaced them with NGK TR55's based on recommendations.

be carefully during installation, those heads are known to strip and blow out plugs.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I know about those head threads. 14lbs of torque is plenty. I still want to go with Motorcraft though. I saw SP 432s on this thread which are discontinued. That is right with SP 433 which I thought were for '03-'04 Mach1's? Don't think the 433 plugs work work the GT though.

I feel the inexpensive stock Motorcraft replacements made my car run stronger and better than some of those fancy 3 prong style fancy plugs. For a car in stock or close to stock configuration I think Ford got it right. After all they built the car and know a little more than we do sometimes I forgot the number but i could look it up.

The number i got from the motorcraft catalog and my owners manual is now SP-493 for my sohc v8 in my GT.
