Default i think i f...ed up

i was swapping out my valve springs and dropped a keeper in the drain back hole....
i had a rag there but moved it out of frustratrion...
what are the chances its in the pan...
can it be saved?

So, you dropped a keeper into the an oil return passage. I think it may be too big to go all the way down. Regardless, you need to get it out of there. You could drain the oil in the small chance that it went all the way down. Depending on how far it went down, maybe try sticking a flexible magnet down the hole and attempt to retrieve it.
