Default 460 swap

Was thinking of doing a 460 swap with a c6 tranny in my 96 gt. What do u guys think. Or saving money and doing a super charger. Any advise I can get the motor and tranny done for about 2200 bucks with around 400hp. Any advise which way go go thanka

i would think of long term goals for the car first. either way though, if you just slap an ordinary vortech v1 (roughly $1500-$2000) on you wont be anywhere near the 400 mark. not without head work anyway.

Gonna cost alot of money and fabrication to fit the big block in.

Was told hardly any mods needs under hood. That's the price installed in the car. 400hp with c6 tranny.

The last time someone on here went for a 460 swap, I believe they got fed up and sold the car. I was reading some old posts about a swap a few days ago, I'll try and find em again, and link em in here.

a 5.0 K member and the 460 swap motor mounts...

the hardest thing will be going to either carb or swapping in a 94/95 ECU so you can use the distributor, id say just find a 5.0 SN95 and go from there

FWIW a 514 will make 600 to the tire all day long and last FOREVER, i just dont want the extra 200lbs on the front end of my car

Im pretty sure you have to cut out alof of sheetmetal around the strut towers on each side, along with firewall clearance issues. It def doesnt drop right in.

no it really does just drop right in, a 460 is actually externally smaller than a 4V motor

really leaning towards the 460 swap. the price is right and i think this is the easiest way to make 400hp for me at least. will most likely be a winter project unless i find another way to make that hp with spending that amount.

I thought the problem was from the degree of the valley, not the actual physical size of the motor.
