Blew the engine in my 1996 mustang GT. I have the old one out im looking for a new one. The junk yard told me to go with a 96 to 98 GT engine but i read online i can use a 96 to 04 GT or Cobra engine? Will there be any differences when installing?

I have 2 mustangs so i plan to just fix and sell this one so i'm looking for the EASIEST engine to install, just having trouble finding another 96 GT so i need to know what my options are while not adding any more work to the job.

Any 4.6 mustang engine should work.The 96-98 would probably be the easiest and cheapest.The 99-04 will work too but I'm not sure if the sensors are in the same places.I believe they are but not sure.I think the only real difference was the heads and intake.Good luck
