Need help identifying injector size
I have a 2000 GT, which comes with the 19lb/h injectors. I'm looking to upgrade to 21 or 24lb/h injectors and ran across these for sale (appear to be the EV1 body with jetronic connectors, aka plug and play for my 2000) :
http://i493.photobucket.com/albums/r...Picture261.jpg Looking at CliffyK's picture (below), I can't confirm what size they are/what vehicle they came from (Seller says they are 24lb). Any idea? http://www.paladinmicro.com/images/F...ctor_Guide.jpg |
Those look like the 24# ones in cliffys pic but they I could be wrong.
I have 6 21# injectors(stock ones from my 99 V6) if your interested... they have the EV6 style connection. |
Do you know for certain that the injectors in question are Ford injectors?
If not, the color chart that Cliffy posted will not apply. They may be made by an aftermarket company. |
I don't know what make/model these are from. I asked for the mileage and what type of vehicle they came from and the seller just restates "they came off a running vehicle, that's all I know". He wants $70, but I think I'll just keep my eye out for another set.

Without better information from the seller, I would avoid these. If he doesn't even know what they came from then I would assume that he never saw them run either. A "running vehicle" could be a vehicle "running" on 7 cyl too. Not worth the risk in my opinion.

I think they are the 24 lb/h injectors used in the '96 to '98 Cobra, and the Lincoln Mark VIII; Bosch 0-280-150-947.
Also to confirm what Syracuse315 stated; EV1 and EV6 are body styles, each of which may have either the Jetronic/Minitimer or USCAR connectors: http://www.paladinmicro.com/images/F...6JedtUSCAR.jpg Syracuse', you do realise you would need a tune change to run these, or any 24 lb/h injector--right? |
Ok, thanks Cliffy.
Yes, I read a couple past posts from you describing issues when running injectors on a mismatched tune. |
Cliffy,
I realize upgrading the injector lb/h size is all about getting them to a lower duty cycle (under 80% ideally correct?). I've found a 21lb/h set for $75, and I'm wondering if that size is big enough for my minor/bolt-on mods, or if I should just wait to find a good set of 24lb/h injectors. Using your formula: http://paladinmicro.com/images/InjectorFormula.png I calculated these injectors would supply 268.8HP @ 80% duty cycle. This is flywheel HP correct? Ford claimed the 2000GT came with 260HP, so even if my mods (CAI, Cat-back exhaust, 75mm TB/plenum, and Bama tune) made only a slight increase in HP, would I be limiting myself in the higher RPMs? Just guessing here, say my car has 280HP (flywheel), that puts the injectors at a 83% duty cycle. With a set of 24 lb/h injectors that would give me a 73% duty cycle. Is that enough of a difference to concentrate on the 24lb/h injectors exclusively? |
where at in NY are you? i got a set of pink tops (21#) with less than 30k miles on them. they're still weathered, and they could prolly use some new pintle caps/o-rings, but other than that they're great. i'll send em to ya if ya pay for shipping or come get 'em. I'm in central jersey (mcguire afb)
I've also got a set of green tops, but i cant just part with those, need at least 150. also in need of pintle caps/O-rings. |
