Yesterday morning my tranny made a loud bang noise going into and out of reverse. Now its very difficult to get into 5th gear and it was even harder trying to get out of 5th. When I finally got it out of 5th it was very tight moving the shifter side to side in neutral.

Theres no noise when driving or smell.. So I'm not sure what the problem is

 

Sounds like time for a rebuild , somethhing has failed inside the trans with a description like that.
