Gas cap\ evap system

Gas cap\ evap system
Edit: ya its deff the grommet on the fuel tube its shredded up pretty bad. Just had to take another look before it got dark.
Over the past week my gas cap light has been coming on, but once i shut off the car and leave when i come back its turned off.
Now the check engine light is on with a code (see pic).
Anybody have some info on where i should start looking. The rubber seal on the cap is making a good seal as far as i know and my fuel pressure sits around 42PSI.
P.S. When i fill up gas it leaks out of the neck where the filler tube and gas tank meet. Now its not a big leak, very small. I read that its a common problem for these to rust out, so im in the process of fixing that. Will that effect the gas cap issue or what?

yes, if there is any fuel leak on the filler neck area, that WILL cause and evap code because when the tank is 3/4 of a tank or lower, thats all vapor and pressures in that part of the tank now, so the system checks that pressures and everything, so if it can sense a leak it will throw the code, fix that, clear the code, see what happens!

Check the filler tube--see this thread.
Ford placed a corrugated plastic cover over the tube which traps crap and moisture, which causes the tube to rust through. If you catch it in time you may be able to patch it with epoxy fuel tank repair putty.
