What Should I do?
I got a 98' Mustang Gt 3 weeks ago and all it has on it is a BBK intake. I have about $4400 to spend and was wondering what I should do because supercharging comes to mind, but with 92,700 miles I wasn't sure if that would be the best idea. Would stroking & forging the engine and replacing the gaskets be a better idea?
hmm if you have a weekend when you dont need your car i would suggest buying PI cams, intake, and heads for your engine, this should raise your horsepower above the later models and a supercharger on top of that may be very useful as well, if you do this yourself you might be looking at around 1500 w.o the supercharger if you really just wanted the supercharger you might be looking at around 4500 (http://www.brothersperformance.com/s...h218050sq.html)
Take your '98 GT and the $4400 and buy a used Cobra. You'll be WAY ahead of the game right out of the shoot. You could build your '98 GT to the moon and not end up where the Cobra starts. Just a plain old Jane '99 GT will start with 40+ more HP than you have now. Think about it. Plus all Cobras have 32V engines with WAY more build up potential.
