What I'd suggest is not going through the water box (duh) right before you stage just chirp your tires to get the dust and rocks off of them, don't burn out or you'll just mess up your tires. Try to prestage and when the other car stages you stage that way you can get a little rolling start.

Ohhh, and don't forget to let pressure out form the tires, that should help (between 5-10 psi), just let out 5 for the first run then decrease it if you need to after each run.

Good Luck!!! and let us know how you do.

This is the biggest load of crap I've ever seen.

There's no way you can get a rolling start because the lights take like 5 seconds from the time that both cars are staged.. you CANNOT roll at all..

If you can completely avoid the water box then just do a little burnout like 5 seconds to heat the tires a little and get rid of any little pebbles etc. If you can't avoid the waterbox then you MUST do a burnout until they smoke to ensure the water is all off, therwise you have no chance.

So avoid the water box and a little burn out would be the best?

Yah but if theres any chance of moisture on your tires smoke them to make sure...

I thought I had avoided the water once but I didn't, and when I launched I just sat there and SPUN... did like a 17 second run.

if you are running on crappy street tires,, there is no need to heat them up

its not going to make a difference if there are pebbles on them anyways

i wouldnt get too greedy on the launch either lol
but feathering it out from too low is not a good idea eiter

my first time my first 4 runs were feathering it out around 1-2K NOT GOOD RESULTS

my best 2.22 60' was dumping the clutch around 4K

maybe it was luck, maybe not, just experiment around
