Your car doesnt have it according to the original Ford specs. I believe they started making it optional in 1999. You're not missing a thing... TRUST ME! LOL

If you do, the button is in front of the shifter between the rear defroster and fog light button. Your better off without it. It totally sucks to have. I have it and hate it. I have to keep turning it off every time I start the car. Cant wait to get my tuner, then I can shut it off forever.

So is it better to turn it off on runs, and is it off when the green light is on. I had someone tell me that it is on when the green light is on?

Keep it off all the time. I hate traction control! When the green light is on that means it's off. When it's not lit that means it's on.

hmm, i am kinda confused as to why everyone doesnt like traction control. i think its pretty cool, because if i turn it off i end up roasting the **** outta my tires if i try to accelerate quickly. do u guys turn it off when u race? when i race, sometimes my back comes out even with it on... i have wider tires too...so, why do u guys think its better to have it off?

i think it was an option there is a button in front of the shifter that says trac ON just push it and with will say TRAC OFF.

no do not race with it it will end up costing you a race.

even with that said i like my traction control, its great in the rain. Trac control has saved my **** form hitting ditches and doing 180's more than once.

I HATE my TC with a passion. It is almost worthless. granted it may be usefull for some people, I cant stand it. I got it with the impression that it worked the same way as the Corvette TC where it regulates the brakes and assists in control in that way, I wasnt aware that what Ford did with their TC was that they just simply had it pretty much bogg down the engine to where you were pretty much just shutting off your motor until your tires werent spinning. And yes it is always off when I'm racing. Your pretty much going to at least "chirp" your tires a little bit (unless you have put quite a bit of money towards tires/suspension so that you have complete traction) and as soon as you even chirp your tires the TC kicks in. Just practice launching with the TC off and stall the engine just enough to where you dont spin the tires uncontrolable when you launch. If you can get your tires to give a slight chirp and even less if possible at the start then you should have a good launch, just dont rely on the TC to help you launch cause all it will do is hurt your times and your launch.
