Question 02 GT EGR DELETE Questions

Doing an egr delete on my 02 gt which is need because install mac long tubes and it is capped off in the new headers. i want to just leave open or cap off at end of egr tube that plugs into stock exhaust manifold. Anybody has experience in this or deleting the egr? i want to look stock from top of engine so dont want to put a block on plate on it and pull all the vaccum lines off. i will have sct tuner by then so i can delete rear 02 sensors in prochamber and i believe you can turn the egr delete off too. also do i have to tune timing after removal of egr?

When you get your tuner just tell them to turn the EGR off and then block off the pipe leading to the stock manifold. You should be fine. You might have to do something with the vacuum lines but I wouldn't do anything unless it causes issues with how it runs

So your new header didn't have the nipple to put the EGR tube back on?
The only issue I've read is a loss of fuel mileage while cruising/HWY driving. Idk, just seems like a pain to do all that work when it really doesn't effect performance at all.

I think it was just a capped off piece off the headers I'll have to dig them back out but don't think there was anything to secure it too

My bbk's had the nipple on the drivers side. Dont break the tube if you decide to keep it, $60.00, dealer only. Pissed me off too, big old fat tag that said "Made in Mexico" on it.

Do this here ^^^ and you will be fine. I just turned the egr off with a tuner and used a plate for the egr and capped the header. On the vacuum lines, I plugged mine but since youre not actually removing the egr, leave your vacuum lines connected.
