could someone please tell me the proper RPM to launch at... i have had my car for about 3 days and i still seem to be losing power when i throw it into to 2nd...thanks guys

l'm guessing 1800-2200 rpms....

 

when i run i do a launch between 2500rpm to 3200rpm

anything lower my car boggs down big time.Make sure if your launching that hard

you have your rear tires at 19 to 23 pounds of pressure

if you have street pressure in them most likely you will smoke the heck out of them.

 

Hello, I read an article on a 2002 driven by an pro driver had his best time launching at 3500 to 4000 but I am sure it takes good coordination with the clutch to achieve this.

I don't know stang-boy thats a little too much rpm for street tires thats good for slicks though.

You'd have to do some serious feathering of the clutch

on rpms that high and with a stock clutch you'd be lucky even if it grabbed.(the clutch)

 

It just takes time to learn. And as for the right rpms it's different with every car just about.

 

IF YOUR ON STREET TIRES WHEN YOUR RUNNING IT PUT 18 IN THE RIGHT AND 19 IN THE LEFT LAUNCH AT 3000 FEATHERING IT AND SHIFT AT 5300 AND YOU SHOULD DO GOOD HOPE I COULD HELP

Sorry this is kind of a newbie question. But when you say "feathering the cluth" what exatly to do mean? Letting off the cluth fairly slow? </P>

 

Yeah just work with it, it is the opposite of dumping it.It takes practice. It will be different from one car to the next.Just get use to what your car does with the different RPM's and feathering.<edited><editID>Sean</editID><editDate>37791.8377430556</editDate></edited>
