Default steering rack install?

Do you guys know of any guides or write ups for replacing the steering rack and pinion alongwith the outer tie rods?

Also should I order my replacement from napa ( rebuilt by a1 cardone, heard some sketchy things) or oreilys (acdelco)

Thanks!

It's not hard the 2 outer castle nuts 2 bolts that hold the rack, I believe a 13mm bolt for the steering shaft only pain is starting the lines for the power steering. Don't forget to replace the Teflon o rings. I had a factory rack blow out the left inner tie rod seal so I went to AutoZone and got a duralast rack well...... 3 racks later I finally got 1 that isn't leaking??? All blew out the inner seals. It's a crap shoot I guess.

it's a piece of cake. just undo the 2 mounting bolts, 2 power steering lines and the steering linkage (1 bolt). tie rods are pretty straight forward. drain the reservoir before you start

They are hard lines down by the rack so you can't pinch the lines off. And gravity will let the lines drain out when you unscrew them. I believe I found taking the top line off first to be easier then take the bottom line off. Good luck. Lay your old rack on the ground and match it to your new rack end to end and count the threads for the jam nut before you transfer them to the new rack. Helps get the rack close so the alignment wont be way out of wack.
