Default Help me with trouble code please

Hey guys, this new 2001 Mustang GT I just bought started earlier today showing the check engine light, I put my scanner on there and it says P1132 and P1152, "Lack of upstream heated oxygen sensor indicates rich bank" Can someone tell me how to fix this?

Thank you.

Those are both 02 Sensor codes.

Here are possible causes

Quote:

Electrical
- Short to VPWR in harness or HO2S
- Water in harness connector
- Open/Shorted HO2S circuit
- Corrosion or poor mating terminals and wiring
- Damaged HO2S
- Damaged PCM

Fuel System
- Excessive fuel pressure
- Leaking /contaminated fuel injectors
- Leaking fuel pressure regulator
- Low fuel pressure or running out of fuel
- Vapor recovery system

Induction System
- Air leaks after the MAF
- Vacuum Leaks
- PCV system
- Improperly seated engine oildipstick

EGR System
- Leaking gasket
- Stuck EGR valve
- Leaking diaphragm or EVR

Base Engine
- Oil overfill
- Cam timing
- Cylindercompression
- Exhaust leaks before or near the HO2S(s)

Wow that is quite a few possibilities! Thank you I appreciate it. I did recently pull the dipstick out to check the oil and boy that thing was bent all sorts of ways, maybe that made the code go off. I probably should buy one of the post 2001 dipsticks anyways. Do you think that any of those things could be harmful to my vehicle if I don't fix them very soon? I work 12 hour shifts so I won't have time to check it out very well for a couple days.

I would start by checking fuses

fuses would set a circuit code, so skip them, i would check to see if my air filter and MAF (mass airflow sensor) are plugged or dirty. this will give the pcm incorrect airflow readings and will cause you to run rich and set these codes. if you have access to a scan tool, check the baro pid, this is measured in Hz and should be around 156Hz at 1000 feet above sea level, if its off a bunch one way or the other, suspect faulty or dirty MAF. i see this all the time

Check the fuel trims, and report back with the #s

You'll be looking for STFT and LTFT for each side in data
