Default IRS Pros and Cons

Already thinking about winter mods and am I'm thinking about going with a IRS rear end. Just wanted to know what are the pros and cons of a IRS setup.

Cant offer any advise but i have a question, i know the irs are used in the Cobras but can a irs handle 532RWHP i would think with all that tq it would cause a lot of squat when launching.

irs is more for a roadway course that 1/4 mile correct

For dragstrip I'd rather have solid axle.

if upgraded with firmer bushings it can be a good suspension, but in stock form they tend to have a lot of wheel hop, just google it and see the issues posted in multiple forums over the years, and how they fixed it.

If you want better road manners and go to the drag strip from time to time, an irs is hands down better (with some upgrades). Ill list out the things I did to get zero wheel hop with 425 rwhp vortech setup.
Subframe connectors
lower torque box bracing
rear irs bracket brace plate
full bushing kit, poly is good but derlin is better
heavy duty toe link bars
either diff brace or Fords heavy duty diff cover
I have bought both of my 03-04 irs' built most the way I wanted other than toe links on one and I want the Ford diff covers on both for cooling purposes. Unless youre a hard core drag guy, these rear ends are great upgrades.

Don't forget the Cobra catback to go with, unless you are just gonna dump after the mufflers.
