2003 GT A/C problem
#2
could be a lot of things.
leak
bad compressor
contaminants
I just did my first a/c job on my 03gt. I changed condenser , compressor, drier all new hoses. and I reused my evaporator, I just flushed it.
a/c systems should never have to be recharged unless something is wrong with it.

the first thing you need to do is check pressure on high and low side. if you don't know how to do that , google it. harbor freight has a pretty good set, if you want to do it yourself. check on you-tube to find out proper way to connect gauges and read pressures

if you dont know how refrigeration systems operate, stop, and save yourself a lot of money and frustration. take it in and have a person who is qualified and knowledgeable fix it. the money you spend buying gauges, and bull$hit fix in a can 134a will pay to have it properly fixed.

A professional tradesman, with shop overhead,is entitled to his 100-125 an hour, and a mark up on parts.
The consumer can only hope for a fairly honest one, skilled in his trade. If you need a compressor, you also need a drier, and an evac and recharge,at a minimum. It adds up.
60,000 isn't that much, but the car is still 13 years old.Age takes it's toll as well.
If old cars were so easy to keep going,no one would buy new ones...part of the reason that i suggested that you not be concerned with just appearance items, like rims.A mechanical repair is usually around the corner.Being 19,you might not be one to baby the car either.
