Default Check Engine Light Code P1405

Does anyone have any experience with this code. It says DPFE Sensor Upstream Hose Off or unplugged.

Don't know exatly where it's located on the 4.6L but where ever your A.I.R tubes go (tube that connects to EGR valve) there will be a little module with an electrical connector and two hoses attached to it. Check the hoses, if they look fine, then your DPFE switch is probably defective. Very common on most Fords.

Depending on teh year, it could be covered under a TSB for free. If you check it, it looks okay, take it to the dealer and ask that the TSB be done on it (if there is one)

P0401 is the usual code for the DPF. It is very common on Fords, but the same code you listed leads to the same source.

The DPF are much cheaper now...I think you can pick one up now for around $20
