Default 1999+ sunroof?

Hey Im looking to buy a 99+ mustang and I was looking at a 99gt and it had a sunroof. I dont think they have ever been an option so was it put in aftermarket? Is this something I should avoid? thanks

YES in all urgency avoid it!! if someone put an aftermarket sunroof on yea it's all good for awhile but then when it rains/car wash/winter... your so screwed... at least test it to see if it leaks

You know dude...I'm really not trying to be a dick here, but it seems like you give advice about things you don't know anything about. I've had sunroofs in 15 different cars. A couple were aftermarket, and this isn't the '70's. Sunroofs don't leak anymore.

I also just read a post about your advice at a dragstrip, that couldn't have been more incorrect. Then I saw your thread about your first time at a strip. Yesterday? So now this makes you qualified to give advice on the best way to get down the track? Popping your hood at 50 mph, running with the heat on, and the windows down? Please...I know you thought whoever told you that was right, but becareful who you get advice from, and certainly don't give it out when you're inexperienced in that subject.

well I did mean to say 20 but even at 50 your fine... there is a latch you know.. it's not going anywhere...
and I did have alot of friends that had leaks in the sunroofs they got... I might not have any experience with it but I have seen more faulty ones than good ones.... maybe it's michigan

Rofl, that is a recipe for disaster, and it will do absolutly nothing anyway.

Interested in a turbo setup? I can get ya one from a brand called "turbonator" I will sell ya for like only 4K or so

I would think that cutting a big hole in your roof would weaken the structure of your car. My acquaintence had a Camaro with a aftermarket sunroof and it cracked the roof up pretty bad. If you want to see sky, get a convertible.
