I haven't raced any WRXs yet but I raced my buddy's 2005 EVO 8... smoked me...

yeah I drive almost bone stock 97 GT.... I'm content with it. Somehow work, family, and school take priority to a heavily modified car. :-)

Stock Wrx's are not all that fast from what i've been hearing... Now if you get a good tune on it thats different. I know what thier capable of though, and they can become quick very easily.

Stock 2.0 turbo WRX has about the same 0-60 time as a stock 99-04 GT. If you want a higher chance to win the race, do it off like a 2nd gear roll from 40mph on up, that will elimate one of his biggest advantages (AWD). lol But then it wouldn't be a real race.

i used to have a wrx there not that fast and it takes a experianced driver to launch one.. because if you dont slip it right all you do is bottom your powerband and take off, wrxs are freaking slow for drag there not that great just make sure your launch is somewhat decent if you lose the launch you still could take him by the 8th because youll pull way harder

I think it really depends whats done to the wrx. I just traded in my WRX for my hummer. But god that thing was fast.
I was far from stock though. I was putting down 300hp at the wheels. Which is about 375 @ the crank. I have a buddy who had a 95 with the 5.0 with exhaust, throttle body, 4.10's, intake, chip, ect. And I would pull away from him on a roll. I could actually start from behind him.. wait for him to get on it, and before you knew it I was pulling right away from him. WRX are no joke when they are modded. Just as a mustang is no joke when they are modded.

I still think its funny when people with v8's get all happy because they beat a 4cyl.. It cant be the same feeling that the 4cyl drivers get when they wax a v8. There two completely different cars.

Good luck against the WRX though. I love both cars

A (chick) friend of mine has a stock WRX and I took her for a drive in my car and stomped it a few times and she was like "WTF!" because it was so much faster than her car that she thought was quick.
