I keep getting this check engine light that says something like EGR insufficient flow. anyqways its code P0401 i think. anybody know what this means

You can use Carb Cleaner to clean it out. Also check the egr tube going to it to see if it has any build up.

clean the egr, possibly the a a bad DPF sensor, or the egr valve
Pretty much the P0402(excessive) and P0401(insuffient) are the same
