Not sure on that one. I would clean the IAC and TB and see if it stops.

Idle air control. You will find it on the plenum.

My car does the same thing almost.

I live in NJ and its about 15 degress over here right now. I drive my stang just about every day, except it sits on the weekends sometimes. When it gets this cold out, you have to make sure you start your car once a day if your not going to be using it. It will blow out the engine and the build up from sitting in the freezing cold for a day or for so many hours.

If I let my car sit for too long when its this cold out (like a full day) and I go to start it the next morning, when I turn the key it sounds like its about to stall, but then it starts and you can watch the MPH Gauge go from 0-150. Then I have to sit there and leave the car on and rev the engine to blow it clean and let the pipes heat up.

My advice is if you know you not going to use the car for a day or so, go start it up and let it sit for 10 mins, therefore you wont encounter startup problems later.

I encounter that problem sometimes. The dealership told me it was my fuel pump but even after that was replaced it still did it. I was told that there was a valve that when it goes bad that it bleeds the fuel back to the tank so it seems like it has an empty tank for a second. Another Pony enthusiast told me that the starter doesn't engage properly to the flywheel and it causes it to crank a few seconds longer. Especially after you drive the car real hard. Try using some fuel injector cleaner and do a good highway trip to let the car go through the motions. then see if it does it. If it still happens expect to spend some quid mate.

LoL, #1 - Thats exactly why you dont ask ford for help.. Because they sell you worthless crap that doesnt solve problems.

#2 - No engage = too freaking cold out.

I had this problem for nearly 2 years til it got so bad the car wouldn't even start at all. I changed the fuel filter, and that didn't help. Finally found a post on another site about changing the IAC valve (there is a post in this forum about it too up at the top of this page).

I changed mine today, and now it runs like a dream.

Cost $51 at Autozone, and took 5 minutes to change.
