Default Help with headers?

My mom won't get me longtube headers for x mas so i am going to get shortys. Are short tubes worse than lt's? Does anyone have any suggestion as to which brand? I was looking at Bassani. I also am going to get an off road midpipe? H or X? I have a 97 cobra with slp lm 1's.

Well you're not going to get the same amount of performance from the shorties.

Shorty headers will give you more noise, but if you are looking for performance you need to buy LT's.

Shorties are only worth a couple of HP over stock and they have NO installation advantages over long tubes or mid length's.They are all a major PITA.If you can't get the headers you want right now and are looking for a Christmas present see if you can get your dear mother to spring for a throttle body plenum combo. This will give performance gains and everytime you open the hood you will think of Mother. In case anyone reading this thinks I'm trying to belittle this loving son,My mom and dad are buying me a Detroit Tru-Trac diff. for Christmas.Last year it was a 75mm Accufab T/B and plenum, and I'm 45 years old.
