Default 2002 mustang GT

hi, so first post on this forum, lookin good,

so im looking at buying a GT in mid january and ive been combing the local buysells, autotrader.com's etc... and all i seem to be able to find are 2002's. now this is fine, but its leading me to wonder, was 2002 a lemon year or something? why is everyone getting rid of their 2002's. maybe its just a freak coincidence.

so i was wondering, is there anything detrementally wrong wtih the 2002 gt that i should be aware of before dropping my money on one? if there is what is the best year of the 4.6 and what should i be looking for as far as big flaws go when i actually check the car out in person.

I have a 2002 GT and I have not had a problem yet. I love it. I think it just a coincidence that you are finding alot of 02 Mustangs. Plus, the warranty on that year is up so you have people selling there cars to get a new one's.

I have an early 2001, If I knew then what I know now, I probably would have made sure I bought a late 2001 or above. Simply becuase they change transmissions and I would rather have the 3650. Other than that, no problems. Must be a coincidence.

Have an 02 with 37K miles. No probs except the 3650 synchro problem which was fixed 8,000 miles ago under TSB & warrantee.
I love my car and would buy another in an instant.

Well i bought a 98 gt, the first mustang with low miles, gt, and a 5 speed that i could afford..if i knew that the 99+ stangs had more horsepower i wouldnt stepped up the price and pay for a newer one..other than that theres been nothing wrong with my mustang except for the tranny that was 1/2 shot when i bought it.

Look on the certification label located in the drivers side door jamb. Look at bottom of sticker where it says TR. If it has a "K" under where it says TR, then it has the 3650 trans.
